Flour Bluff earned area-round revenge over Mission Veterans, taking down the Patriots 57-33 in a Class 5A Division I area round playoff game Friday in Corpus Christi.
Last year, Mission Vets bounced Flour Bluff out of the second round of the playoffs.
Mission Vets quarterback Landry Gilpin threw and ran for a touchdown to put the Patriots (10-2) up 17-3 midway through the second quarter, but Flour Bluff closed the gap before the Patriots kicked a late field goal to escape into halftime leading 20-17.
Mission Veterans gave up its advantage to start the third quarter but stayed close with Flour Bluff in the second half, never taking another lead for the remainder of the game due to a scoreless fourth quarter.
Flour Bluff (10-1) will meet Angleton in the third round next weekend.
