There was some swapping around in placement, but no change in teams to the RGVSports.com Top 10 high school football poll heading into Week 7.

McAllen Memorial remains in No. 1 with six of seven first-place votes. The Mustangs are 6-0 and host La Joya Juarez-Lincoln this week.

McAllen Memorial is winning by an average of 35 points per game.

Edinburg Vela is still No. 2, claiming the other first-place vote. The SaberCats are coming off a string of impressive wins against two of District 31-5A’s top teams in Sharyland High and Roma and are undefeated going into this week’s game against fellow undefeated Sharyland Pioneer.

Harlingen High and Los Fresnos stay No. 3 and No. 4 respectively. The Cardinals are on a four-game winning streak and the Falcons are off to their best start ever in program history.

Los Fresnos is allowing just 9.4 points per game.

For the second straight week, Brownsville Veterans Memorial and Weslaco High swapped places in fifth and sixth. The Chargers are now No. 5 and the Panthers are No. 6.

Sharyland High remains No. 7 after its 29-27 win over Mission Veterans Memorial last week. The Rattlers have a bye this week before another big game against Roma in Week 8.
