IDEA Frontier loses in the opening round

Staff Reports

The Brownsville IDEA Frontier Chargers lost their bi-district round playoff game Monday to the Santa Gertrudis Lions 68-39 in Raymondville.

“We started shaky, but we have a lot of young kids and it was our first time in the playoffs as a school,” IDEA Frontier coach Jerry De La Garza said. “We had a big deficit in the first quarter, but we did catch back up.”

Victor Castillo led the Chargers in scoring. He was followed by Marcos Arellano, who was also led the team in rebounds.

“The kids played great and they hustled all year long,” De La Garza said.
