Harlingen, San Benito meets their teams

With high school football around the corner, both the Harlingen Cardinals and the San Benito Greyhounds introduced their respective teams to their communities Thursday night.
The Cardinals held their ‘Meet the Cardinals’ Night for the first time ever at Boggus Stadium in Harlingen, as fans came out for their first look at the football team, band, cheerleaders and drill team.
Along with Harlingen head coach Manny Gomez, members of the Harlingen High School Quarterback Club, school board members and special guests addressed fans in attendance.
Over at Bobby Morrow Stadium in San Benito, the annual ‘Meet the Greyhounds’ was led by head football coach Dan Gomez.
Gomez introduced his team and coaching staff one by one and spoke of the team’s expectations this season.
The Greyhounds will open their preseason with a scrimmage on the road tonight against PSJA at 7 p.m. The Cardinals will scrimmage Sharyland next Friday night at Boggus Stadium.
