Valley View defender Christian Gonzalez became the latest RGV athlete to sign to Jarvis Christian University, signing to play soccer at the school during a ceremony Monday at Valley View High School.
Jarvis Christian University is an NAIA school located in Hawkins, Texas that competes in the Red River Athletic Conference. Currently, 11 RGV natives are listed on the team’s roster.

Gonzalez joins the Bulldogs after a four-year career with the Tigers. This year, Gonzalez was one of the top defenders in the district, earning District 31-5A first team honors.
The senior defender helped the Tigers field a stingy defense this season, pitching six shutouts in 18 contests. The Tigers finished with a 12-3-3 district record this year, earning a share of the District 31-5A title.
