Galindo coached the Pioneer Diamondbacks to be the No. 1-ranked offense in the nation in total yards per game with 588.3 yards, and the No. 3-ranked scoring offense in points per game with 54.8 in nine games played this season.
Pioneer’s spread attack picked defenses apart on a weekly basis during the season as the Diamondbacks averaged 382.9 passing yards and 205.4 rushing yards per game, led by all-state quarterback Eddie Lee Marburger and a dangerous arsenal of skill players.
Sharyland Pioneer made program history during the postseason by reaching the fourth round of the Class 5A playoffs, which is a program record. The Diamondbacks were also just the 4th team from the Rio Grande Valley in the last 11 years to reach a regional final.
