Parking adjustments for La Joya, McAllen Memorial football game

Fans planning to attend the La Joya High versus McAllen Memorial football game Thursday, Oct. 3, will need to make adjustments in order to park due to another event — the McAllen High School Homecoming Parade — happening the same evening. Both events are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. Thursday.

Parking for both events will be available at two locations at McAllen Veterans Memorial Stadium: The lot located on the southwest side of the stadium and the one on the north side.

The southwest side parking lot is accessible only through Tamarack Ave. The parking lot on the north side will be accessible through only one entrance – the intersection of 23rd St. and Bulldog Drive.

All other north parking lot gates will be closed. There will be no access from either Bicentennial Blvd. or La Vista Ave.

At 7:15 p.m., the gate at 23rd St. and Bulldog Drive will shut down. At that time, the northside parking lot gates along Bicentennial Blvd. will be opened.
