Juarez-Lincoln boys, Palmview girls win Coyote Invitational

For a second consecutive week, La Joya Juarez-Lincoln’s boys and La Joya Palmview’s girls emerged as winners in a weekend wrestling tournament.

The Huskies tallied 218 points Saturday to take first place in the Coyote Invitational at La Joya High. The Lady Lobos registered 135 points.

On the boys side, Rio Grande City (123.5) was a distant runner-up. PSJA High (117) was right behind. For the girls, San Benito (114) finished in second place with La Joya High (104) taking third.

Last week, Juarez-Lincoln’s boys earned top honors at the Centex Wrestling Tournament in Austin and Palmview’s girls secured first place at the Gator Roll in Grulla.
