Playoffs details were finalized Friday for four Metro-area soccer teams advancing to the third round of the postseason.
The Pace and Porter boys are scheduled to play each other at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday at Sams Memorial Stadium in a Class 5A regional quarterfinal matchup. The winner advances to the Region IV-5A Tournament next Friday at Corpus Christi’s Cabaniss Field.
In Class 6A regional quarterfinal matchups, also Tuesday, it’s Rivera’s boys vs. La Joya Juarez-Lincoln at 7:30 p.m. at Donna’s Bennie LaPrade Stadium, and the Los Fresnos Lady Falcons vs. McAllen High at 7 p.m. at Weslaco’s Bobby Lackey Stadium. The winners of those matches advance to next Friday’s Region IV-6A Tournament at Brownsville Sports Park.
The 6A regional quarterfinal matchup for the Hanna boys will be finalized after the result of today’s area-round game between McAllen High and PSJA North at Sharyland Pioneer.
Today’s winner goes against Hanna for a berth at the regional tournament.
