Juan Diego Academy’s season came to an end Friday following a 25-19, 25-17, 25-21 loss to San Antonio Gateway Christian in the TAPPS 1A Championships at Coriscana.
“The stage was a little too big for us,” coach Vic Garza said in a text message. “I think this will help us in the future. Our girls know we had an opportunity slip away but I think this will pay dividends next year.
“Great experience overall.”
The Lady Lions’ second season as a TAPPS 1A program, and their fourth overall, ended with a 32-5 record after winning district with a 8-0 record.
Gateway Christian improved to 27-10-1.
